Discover Your Sport is a youth-centred sport and wellbeing initiative led by former Greek pole vault champion and national record holder Stavros Tsitouras. The project helps children and young people explore sport, build confidence, and discover physical activities aligned with their strengths, interests, and personal potential.
At a time when many young people face sedentary lifestyles, stress, low self-confidence, and limited access to structured sport opportunities — particularly in underserved and remote areas — the initiative promotes movement and physical activity as tools for wellbeing, resilience, healthy living, and personal growth.
Grounded in the philosophy of Citius, Altius, Fortius (Faster, Higher, Stronger), the project approaches sport not only as competition, but as a pathway for education, emotional wellbeing, discipline, and self-discovery.
Through school visits, mentoring activities, educational talks, and practical sessions across Athens and the Peloponnese, Stavros Tsitouras engages directly with children and young people, encouraging them to better understand their abilities, discover sports they enjoy, and develop long-term healthy habits through movement and participation.
By sharing lessons from elite sport and his personal journey as an athlete, the initiative supports young people in building resilience, improving confidence, managing stress, and recognising their own potential both inside and outside sport.
The project combines sport discovery, mentorship, wellbeing education, and inclusive participation, ensuring that all young people — regardless of geography, opportunity, or personal circumstances — can experience the positive impact of sport and physical activity.
